The VBW Collection!

This drop is yet another that’s incredibly special to me because it lets me share some of my utmost favorite (yet virtually unknown in the Americas) shows and productions of all time with y’all! This is the VBW Collection of my micro modular series, featuring buildable desk-size recreations of six of the most well-known original VBW shows and productions. For those not in the know, VBW stands for Vereinigte Bühnen Wien or United Stages of Vienna, a state-sponsored league of three large historic theaters in Vienna that is not only considered the foremost producer of Broadway productions’ international premieres since the mid 70s, but is also world-renowned for incubating and premiering some of global musical theatre’s absolute best and highest-quality original pieces and productions (yes, better than most Broadway fare), many of which enjoy numerous domestic revivals and international productions (we don’t talk about Broadway transfers); the latter is what this collection showcases. With world-class creative teams that any producer would envy and insanely breathtaking sets, what’s there not to love? These models are some of my favorites alongside my Patti and Hal Collections, and I hope this makes folks explore these criminally-underappreciated works, almost all of which are absolute masterpieces!
